Account for air movement hazards.

Fans, blowers, and pressurized HVAC systems can start unexpectedly if energy sources are not fully isolated. Moving parts and sudden airflow can create serious injury risks during servicing or maintenance.

Before beginning work, confirm the system is in a true zero energy state, secure moving components, and follow proper lockout/tagout procedures. Never assume a unit is safe just because it appears powered down.

Taking the time to verify isolation helps protect both you and your crew on the jobsite.

Kickback can happen in a split second when material binds, shifts, or contacts the blade incorrectly. The force can send material or the tool back toward the operator, causing serious injury.

Always position your body to the side of the blade path, not directly behind it. Keep materials secured, maintain proper hand placement, and never rush a cut. Staying aware of kickback zones helps you stay in control and work safer on the jobsite.
